EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (POTATO RING ROT) REGULATIONS, 1987. |

I, AUSTIN DEASY, Minister for Agriculture, considering there is an imminent danger of the introduction into the State of potato ring rot, (being a danger described in Article 9 of Council Directive No. 80/665/EEC 1 of 24 June, 1980), in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), hereby make the following Regulations: |

1. These Regulations may be cited at the European Communities (potato Ring Rot) Regulations, 1987. |
||
|
2. (1) The importation of potato tubers which have been produced in the Federal Republic of Germany is hereby prohibited. |
||
|
(2) Any person who contravenes paragraph (1) of this Regulation shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1,000. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |

|
The Regulations prohibit the importation of potato tubers which have been produced in the Federal Republic of Germany. |
