BOVINE DISEASES (LEVIES) REGULATIONS, 1987.

I, MICHAEL O'KENNEDY, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 (2) and 19 (1) of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1987.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 20th day of April, 1987.

2. The amount of levy payable under section 2 of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), shall

(a) as regards milk be 1.1 penny per gallon,

(b) as regards animals slaughtered or exported live be £6.50 per animal.

3. The Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1984 ( S.I. No. 272 of 1984 ), are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations which come into effect on 20 April, 1987 prescribe new rates of disease levy on milk for processing and on bovine animals slaughtered or exported live.
