HEALTH (DELEGATION OF FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1988.

HEALTH (DELEGATION OF FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1988.

The Government, on the request of the Minister for Health and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1977 (No. 28 of 1977), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Health (Delegation of Functions) Order, 1988.

2. The powers and duties of the Minister for Health under each of the enactments specified in the Schedule to this Order and under any instrument made under any such enactment are hereby delegated to Terry Leyden, Minister of State at the Department of Health.

SCHEDULE

Sale of Food and Drugs Acts, 1875 to 1936.

Cruelty to Animals Act, 1876.

Milk and Dairies Acts, 1935 and 1956.

Section 5 and part V of the Health Act, 1947 [No. 28 of 1947].

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Government, this 2nd day of September, 1988.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to delegate the powers and duties referred to therein of the Minister for Health to Terry Leyden, Minister of State at the Department of Health.
