I, MICHAEL SMITH, Minister for Energy, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 9 (1) of the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1988 (No. 17 of 1988), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1988 (Section 9) (Commencement) Order, 1988.

2. The 1st day of January, 1989, is hereby appointed for the purposes of section 9 (1) of the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1988 (No. 17 of 1988).
