INTERNATIONAL CARRIAGE OF PERISHABLE FOODSTUFFS ACT, 1987 (AUTHORISED PERSON) ORDER, 1989.

I, JOHN P. WILSON, Minister for Tourism and Transport, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 6 (4) of the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act, 1987 (No. 20 of 1987), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act, 1987 (Authorised Person) Order, 1989, and shall come into operation on the 22nd day of March, 1989.

2. Eolas -- The Irish Science and Technology Agency is hereby authorised to act on behalf of the Minister for Tourism and Transport for the purposes of subsections (1) to (3) of section 6 of the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act, 1987 (No. 20 of 1987).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order, made by the Minister for Tourism and Transport, appoints Eolas -- The Irish Science and Technology Agency to type-approve transport equipment pursuant to the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act, 1987 (No. 20 of 1987).
