SOCIAL WELFARE (MODIFICATION OF INSURANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1989

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 7 of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 (No.1 of 1981 ), hereby makes the following Regulations:--

1. These Regulations may be cited as Social Welfare (Modification of Insurance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1989.

2. Article 7 of the Social Welfare (Modification of Insurance) Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 87 of 1979 ) (as amended by the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations, 1988 ( S.I. No. 65 of 1988 )) is hereby amended by the substitution in sub-article (3) of "in sub-articles (1) (a) and (1) (l)" for "in sub-article (1) (a)".

3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 6th day of April, 1989.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide that cover for Occupational Injuries Insurance for members of the Garda Sióchana will be on a similar basis to that which applies in the case of civil servants at present.
