I, SÉAMUS BRENNAN, Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 (2) (inserted by section 8 of the Road Transport Act, 1986 (No. 16 of 1986)) of the Road Transport Act, 1971 (No. 8 of 1971), and the Communications (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 92 of 1987 ), as adapted by the Tourism and Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1991 ( S.I. No. 25 of 1991 ), hereby order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Transport (International Carriage of Goods by Road) Order, 1991. |
||
2. A permit granted by the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications and issued by the Ministro de Transportes, Turismo y Comunicaciones of Spain under the Agreement made by the 28th day of June, 1990 on behalf of the Government and the Government of Spain on the international carriage of goods by road (being an international agreement on the international transport by road) shall be deemed to be a restricted road freight licence. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The purpose of this Order is to allow the Spanish transport authorities to issue permits on Ireland's behalf for access by Spanish hauliers to Ireland. This gives formal effect to an international road transport agreement between Ireland and Spain. |
