RADIO AND TELEVISION (COMPLAINTS BY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC) REGULATIONS, 1992.

RADIO AND TELEVISION (COMPLAINTS BY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC) REGULATIONS, 1992.

I, MÁIRE GEOGHEGAN-QUINN, Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communication, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 11 (3) of the Radio and Television Act, 1988 (No. 20 of 1988), and the Communications (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1991 (S.I. No. 26 of the 1991), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Radio and Television (Complaints by Members of the Public) Regulations, 1992.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 11th day of November, 1992.

2. It is hereby directed that complaints by members of the public in respect of a sound broadcasting service or in respect of a television programme service provided under the Radio and Television Act, 1988 (No. 20 of 1988), be investigated by the Broadcasting Complaints Commission.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations extend the ambit of the Broadcasting Complaints Commission to independent broadcasting services provided under the Radio and Television Act, 1988 .
