DIPLOMATIC AND CONSULAR FEES (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS, 1993.

DIPLOMATIC AND CONSULAR FEES (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS, 1993.

I, DICK SPRING, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Act, 1939 (No. 31 of 1939), as adapted by the External Affairs (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1971 ( S.I. No. 158 of 1971 ), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1993.

(2) The Collective citation "the Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1982 to 1993" shall include these Regulations.

(3) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1993.

2. The Diplomatic and Consular Fees Regulations, 1982 ( S.I. No. 344 of 1982 ) are hereby amended by the substitution of the following Part for Part 1 of the Second Schedule (Inserted by the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1992 ( S.I. No. 8 of 1992 )):

"PART I

Travel Documents and Documents of Identity

Ref. No. Service Rendered Fee

1. For the issue of a passport of 32 pages, valid for ten years:

( a ) for an application in a form provided for an applicant resident in Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands

(i) received between the 1st day of October and the 30th day of November in the same year

(ii) received between the 1st day of December in any year and the 30th day of September in the following year

45.00

( b ) for any other application

45.00
2. For the issue of a passport of 96 pages, valid for ten years 90.00
3. For the issue of a passport of 32 pages to a person under 18 years of age or over 65 years of age, valid for three years

10.00

4. For the issue of a new passport for the unexpired period of validity of an existing valid passport returned for cancellation or for endorsement:

( a ) new 32 page passport

15.00

( b ) new 96 page passport

27.00
5. For the issues of an emergency travel document 5.00
6. For affixing the finger prints of a merchant seaman to a seaman's identity card and for endorsing same 9.00

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of these Regulations is to discontinue certain services in regard to travel documents and documents of identity and for the amendment of the Diplomatic and Consular Fees (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1992 ( S.I. No. 268 of 1992 ).
