VIDEO RECORDINGS ACT, 1989 (APPEALS) REGULATIONS, 1994.

I, MÁIRE GEOGHEGAN-QUINN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 10 and 31 of the Video Recordings Act, 1989 (No. 22 of 1989), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Video Recordings Act, 1989 (Appeals) Regulations, 1994.

2. (1) An appeal under subsection (1) of section 10 of the Video Recordings Act, 1989 (No. 22 of 1989) shall be brought by giving a notice in the form specified in Part 1 of the Schedule to these Regulations or in a form to the like effect to the Censorship of Films Appeal Board and, if the video work to which the prohibition order concerned relates has not been the subject of an application by the appellant for a supply certificate, the notice shall be accompanied by a video recording of the work.

(2) An appeal under subsection (2) of the said section 10 shall be brought by giving a notice in the form specified in Part II of the Schedule to these Regulations or in a form to the like effect to the Censorship of Films Appeal Board and, if the video work to which the supply certificate relates has not been the subject of an application by the appellant for a supply certificate, the notice shall be accompanied by a video recording of the work.

3. The Video Recordings Act, 1989 (Appeals) Regulations, 1991 ( S.I. No. 218 of 1991 ) are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations prescribe the manner of appeal under section 10 (1) of the Video Recordings Act, 1989 against a prohibition order and under subsection (2) of the said section 10 against a classification granted.
