I, BRIAN COWEN, Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6 of the Road Transport Act, 1933 (No. 8 of 1933), and the Communications (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 92 of 1987 ) (as adapted by the Tourism, Transport and Communications (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 17 of 1993 )), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Transport Acts (Vehicle Plate Application Form) Regulations, 1994.
|
|
|
(2) The collective citation "the Road Transport Acts Regulations, 1933 to 1994" shall include these Regulations.
|
|
|
(3) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1994.
|
|
|
2. The Road Transport Act, 1933 , (Part II) Regulations Order, 1933 ( S. R. & O. No. 120 of 1933 ), is hereby amended:
|
|
|
( a ) by the substitution for Regulation 7 of the following:
|
|
|
"7. Every application for a vehicle plate or replacement thereof shall be in the form in the Second Schedule hereto", and
|
|
|
( b ) by the substitution for the Second Schedule of the following Schedule:
|
|
|
"SECOND SCHEDULE.
|
|
|
ROAD TRANSPORT ACT 1933 .
|
|
|
|
|
|
Application for a Vehicle Plate or a Replacement
|
The Chief Superintendent
Garda Síochána

I/We hereby apply for a vehicle plate, as prescribed by section 30 of the Road Transport Act, 1933 , in respect of the following vehicle: |

Note: |
It is provided by section 30 (4) of the Road Transport Act 1933 . that a Chief Superintendent of the Garda Síochána shall not issue a vehicle plate in respect of a vehicle unless he is satisfied that such vehicle is duly licensed under section 13 of the Finance Act, 1920, as amended by subsequent enactments.". |

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
|
|
|
The effect of the Instrument is to alter the prescribed application form for vehicle plates.
