OIREACHTAS (ALLOWANCES TO MEMBERS) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1994 (SECTIONS 2 AND 3) ORDER, 1994.

OIREACHTAS (ALLOWANCES TO MEMBERS) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1994 (SECTIONS 2 AND 3) ORDER, 1994.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 2 and 3 of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Amendment) Act, 1994 (No. 21 of 1994), hereby make the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Amendment) Act (Sections 2 and 3) Order, 1994.

2. There shall be payable to every member of the Oireachtas who is the holder of the position of chairman of an Oireachtas Committee specified in the second column of Part I of the Schedule to this Order at any reference number, an annual allowance in respect of the member's duties as holder of such position, at the rate specified in the third column of the said Schedule opposite that reference number, in respect of any period since the 12th day of January, 1993, during which the said member held such position.

3. There shall be payable to the member of Seanad Eireann who is the holder of the position of Leader of the House, an annual allowance in respect of the member's duties as holder of such position, at the rate specified in Part II of the Schedule to this Order, in respect of any period since the 12th day of January, 1993, during which the said member held such position.

PART II.

Annual Allowance payable to Leader of the House in Seanad Eireann.

The rate of the annual allowance payable to the Leader of the House in Seanad Eireann shall be £6,630.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the payment of allowances to the Chairpersons of certain Oireachtas Committees and to the Leader of the House in Seanad Eireann.
