I, Mervyn Taylor, Minister for Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Civil Legal Aid Act, 1995 (No. 32 of 1995), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Legal Aid Act, 1995 (Commencement) Order, 1996.

2. The 11th day of October, 1996 is hereby appointed to be the establishment day for the purpose of the Civil Legal Aid Act, 1995 (No. 32 of 1995).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order fixes 11th October, 1996 as the date on which the Civil Legal Aid Board is to be established on a statutory basis under the Civil Legal Aid Act, 1995 .
