The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 22 of the Social Welfare Act, 1996 (No. 7 of 1996), hereby orders as follows: |

| Citation. | ||

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act, 1996 (Section 22) (Commencement) Order, 1996. |
||
| Commencement. | ||
|
2. Section 22 of the Social Welfare Act, 1996 shall come into operation with effect from the 27th day of November, 1996. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE |
||
|
Section 22 of the Social Welfare Act, 1996 provides for improvements in the Unemployment Assistance scheme including regulatory powers relating to the assessment of earnings from insurable employment. |

|
This Order brings these provisions into effect from 27 November, 1996. |
||
|
