S.I. No. 257/1997:

PRISONS ACT, 1970 (SECTION 7) ORDER, 1997

PRISONS ACT, 1970 (SECTION 7) ORDER, 1997

I, Nora Owen, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 (1) of the Prisons Act, 1970 (No. 11 of 1970), after consultation with the Visiting Committee to Saint Patrick's Institution, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Prisons Act, 1970 (Section 7) Order, 1997.

2. The period of 24 months beginning on the 28th day of June, 1997, is hereby specified for the purpose of section 7 of the Prisons Act, 1970 (No. 11 of 1970).

Explanatory Note

This Order continues in operation Section 7 of the Prisons Act, 1970 for further period of 24 months.
