REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 17 AND SECTION 18) (SOUTHERN) ORDER, 1997

REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 17 AND SECTION 18) (SOUTHERN) ORDER, 1997

An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 17 and Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 (Section 17 and Section 18) (Southern) Order, 1997.

2. The existing Registrars' Districts of Caher, Derrynane, Emlagh and Valencia shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Caher.

3. The existing Registrars' Districts of Annascaul, Ventry and Dingle shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Dingle.

4. The existing Registrars' Districts of Kenmare, Kilgarven, Sneem and Tuoist shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Kenmare.

5. The existing Registrars' Districts of Killarney and Molahiffe shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Killarney.

6. The existing Registrars' Districts of Ballybunion, Ballyduff, Ballyhorgan, Ballylongford, Listowel and Tarbert shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Listowel.

7. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Fermoy, Kanturk, Mallow and Millstreet shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Mallow.

8. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Cork, Kinsale, Midleton and Youghal shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Cork.

9. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Bantry, Castletown, Clonakilty, Dunmanway, Skibbereen and Schull shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Skibbereen.

10. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Killarney, Dingle, Kenmare, Listowel, and Tralee shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Kerry.

11. This Order shall come into operation on the 9th day of October, 1997.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Superintendent Registrars' Districts and Registrars' Districts in the functional area of the Southern Health Board so as to reduce the number of such districts in that area.
