COINAGE (DIMENSION AND DESIGN) REGULATIONS. 1997 |

I, Charlie McCreevy, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4 of the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 (No. 23 of 1969), hereby make the following regulations: |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Coinage (Dimension and Design) Regulations, 1997. |
||
2. In these Regulations "the coins" means the coins to be provided under the New Coinage (UN50 Commemorative One Pound) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 442 of 1997 ). |
||
3. The coins shall be circular in shape and the diameter of each of the coins to be provided shall be 38.61 millimetres. |
||
4. The edge of each of the coins shall be milled. |
||
5. Each of the coins shall have for the obverse impression of a harp, together with the inscriptions "Eire" and "19451995" and the reverse impression shall be a dove, the United Nations logo and the inscriptions "Nations United for Peace", "19451995" and "£l". |
