JURISDICTION OF COURTS AND ENFORCEMENT OF JUDGEMENTS ACT, 1993 (SECTION 7(4)) (DECLARATION) ORDER, 1997

I, DAVID ANDREWS, T.D., Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7(4)(a) of the Jurisdiction of Courts and Enforcement of Judgements Act, 1993, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Jurisdiction of Courts and Enforcement of Judgements Act, 1993 (Section 7(4)) (Declaration) Order, 1997.

2. It is hereby declared that each of the states specified in the Schedule to this Order is a Contracting State within the meaning of section 7(4)(a) of the Jurisdiction of Courts and Enforcement of Judgements Act, 1993.

3. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of November, 1997.

SCHEDULE

The State, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This order designates the countries which are Contracting States to the Lugano Convention on Jurisdiction and Enforcement of Judgements in Civil Matters, 1988.
