ROAD TRAFFIC (LICENSING OF TRAILERS AND SEMI-TRAILERS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1998.

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 10 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998.

(2) The Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) Regulations, 1982 to 1996 and these Regulations shall be construed as one and cited together as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) Regulations, 1982 to 1998.

(3) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1998.

2. The Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) Regulations, 1982 are hereby amended by the substitution in the Second Schedule thereof of:

"£5" for "£2", "£50" for "£20" and "£25" for "£10".

3. The Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1996 are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the fees for licences and other charges in relation to Trailers and Semi-Trailers. They also revoke the Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1996 ( S.I. No. 173 of 1996 ).

The Regulations come into operation on 1st August, 1998.
