The Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister by section 27 of the Social Welfare Act, 1997 (No. 10 of 1997), hereby orders as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act, 1997 (Section 22 (3)) (Commencement) Order, 1998. |

2. The 3rd day of June, 1998, is hereby appointed as the day on which section 22 (3) of the Social Welfare Act, 1997 (No. 10 of 1997), shall come into operation. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
|
This Order provides that section 22 (3) of the Social Welfare Act, 1997 will come into effect on the 3rd of June, 1998. |
||
|
Section 22 (3) of the Social Welfare Act, 1997 provides that the cost of medical certificates obtained by a claimant for the purposes of Disability Allowance will be met by the Department. |
