COUNTY OF MANAGHAN LOCAL ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER, 1998.

COUNTY OF MANAGHAN LOCAL ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER, 1998.

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 24 of the Local Government Act, 1994 (No. 8 of 1994), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the County of Monaghan Local Electoral Areas Order, 1998.

2. (1) The County of Monaghan shall be divided into the local electoral areas which are named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

(2) Each such local electoral area shall consist of the area set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.

(3) The number of members of the council of the County of Monaghan to be elected for each such local electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of that local electoral area.

3. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to an electoral division or urban district shall be construed as referring to such electoral division or urban district as existing at the date of this Order and every reference to a former rural district shall be construed as a reference to that district as constituted immediately before the 1st day of October, 1925.

4. The Monaghan County Council Order, 1942, the Monaghan County Council (Amendment) Order, 1945 and Article 11 of the County Electoral Areas (Amendment) Order, 1985 ( S.I. No. 109 of 1985 ) are hereby revoked.

The urban district of Carrickmacross and the electoral divisions of Ballymackney, Bellatrain, Bocks, Broomfield, Carrickmacross Rural, Corracharra, Crossalare, Donaghmoyne, Drumboory, Drumcarrow, Drumgurra, Enagh (in the former Rural District of Carrickmacross), Inishkeen, Kilmurry, Kiltybegs, Laragh, Loughfea, Raferagh.

Castleblayney

The urban district of Castleblayney and the electoral divisions of Annayalla, Anny, Ballybay Rural, Ballybay Urban, Carrickaslane, Carrickatee, Castleblayney Rural, Church Hill, Clontibret, Cormeen Creeve, Cremartin, Greagh, Mullyash, Tullycorbet.

Clones

The urban district of Clones and the electoral divisions of Aghabog, Caddagh, Clones, Clones Rural, Currin, Dawsongrove, Drum, Drumhillagh, Drummully, Drumsnat, Killeevan, Killynenagh, Kilmore, Lisnaveane, Newbliss, Scotstown, St. Tierney.

Monaghan

The urban district of Monaghan and the electoral divisions of Anketell Grove, Bellanode, Branagan, Castleshane, Derrygorry, Emyvale, Enagh (in the former Rural District of Monaghan), Figullar, Glaslough, Killylough, Monaghan Rural, Rackwallace, Shanmullagh, Sheskin, Tedavnet, Tehallen.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to amend the division of County Longford into county electoral areas and to fix the number of members to be elected for each electoral area.
