COUNTY OF LONGFORD LOCAL ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER, 1998.

COUNTY OF LONGFORD LOCAL ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER, 1998.

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 24 of the Local Government Act, 1994 (No. 8 of 1994), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the County of Longford Local Electoral Areas Order, 1998.

2. (1) The County of Longford shall be divided into the local electoral areas which are named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

(2) Each such local electoral area shall consist of the area set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.

(3) The number of members of the council of the County of Longford to be elected for each such local electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of that local electoral area.

3. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to an electoral division or urban district shall be construed as referring to such electoral division or urban district as existing at the date of this Order.

4. The Longford County Council Order, 1942 and the Longford County Council (Amendment) Order, 1990 ( S.I. No. 181 of 1990 ) are hereby revoked.

Drumlish

The electoral divisions of Ballinamuck East, Ballinamuck West, Breanrisk, Columbkille, Drumgort, Drumlish, Killoe, Moyne.

Granard

The electoral divisions of Abbeylara, Aghaboy, Ballinalee, Ballymuigh, Bunlahy, Coolamber, Creevy, Crosagstown, Currygrane, Dalystown, Drummeel, Firry, Gelshagh, Granard Rural, Granard Urban, Knockanbaun, Lislea, Meathas Truim, Milltown, Moatfarrell, Mullanalaghta, Newgrove, Sonnagh.

Longford

The urban district of Longford and the electoral divisions of Caldragh, Cloondara, Cloonee, Corboy, Longford Rural, Newtown Forbes.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to amend the division of County Longford into county electoral areas and to fix the number of members to be elected for each electoral area.
