I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 , 12 , 13 and 27 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 1997 ( S.I. No. 302 of 1997 hereby order as follows |

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Notification of Infectious Diseases) Order 1992 (Amendment) Order 1998. |
||
(2) This order shall come into operation on the ninteenth day of September 1998. |
||
(3) The Diseases of Animals (Notification of Infectious Diseases) Order 1992, and this Order may be cited together as the Diseases of Animals (Notification of Infectious Diseases) Orders, 1992 to 1998 |
||
2. The Diseases of Animals (Notification of Infectious Diseases) Order, 1992 ( S.I. No. 251 of 1992 ) is hereby amended by the addition of an Article 4 as follows: |
||
"4. In respect of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome the following shall apply: |
||
Unless it is accompanied by, and is moved in accordance with conditions specified in, a permit issued for its movement by a veterinary inspector -- |
||
an animal or animal carcase which is diseased, which is suspected of being diseased or which has been exposed, by contact or otherwise, to infection with a disease, |
||
shall not be moved out of the premises or other land on which it or they happen to be on the date of the relevant notice given pursuant to Article 3 of this Order." |

This Order extends the diseases to which movement conditions will be applied to include Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome. |
