ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1994 (SECTION 41) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1998

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 41 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994 (No. 7 of 1994), having consulted with the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform hereby makes the following Regulations:--

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic Act, 1994 (Section 41) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998.

(2) These Regulations and the Road Traffic Act, 1994 (Section 41) Regulations, 1995 may be construed as one and cited together as the Road Traffic Act, 1994 (Section 41) Regulations, 1995 and 1998.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 29th day of September, 1998.

3. Sub-article (1) of article 5 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994 (Section 41) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 89 of 1995 ) is hereby amended by the substitution of " £30" for " £25" in paragraph (b).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic Act, 1994 (Section 41) Regulations, 1995 by increasing from £25 to £30 the daily storage charge payable to the Garda Commissioner by the owner of a vehicle which has been towed away in accordance with the Regulations.
