I, JOHN O'DONOGHUE, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 (1) of the Europol Act, 1997 (No. 38 of 1997), following consultation with the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, hereby order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Europol Act, 1997 (Designation of National Unit) Order, 1998. |
||
|
2. The Europol National Unit within the Garda Síochána is hereby designated as the national unit for the purposes of the Europol Act, 1997 (No. 38 of 1997), and the Convention. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE |
