VALUATION ACT, 1988 (GLOBAL VALUATION: ELECTRICITY SUPPLY BOARD)(APPORTIONMENT) ORDER, 1998 |

I, Charlie McCreevy, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 4 (7) of the Valuation Act, 1988 (No. 2 of 1998), and after consultation with the Minister for the Environment and Local Government, hereby order as follows: |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Valuation Act, 1988 (Global Valuation: Electricity Supply Board)(Apportionment) Order, 1998. |
||
2. The Valuation Act, 1988 , (Global Valuation: Electricity Supply Board)(Apportionment) Order, 1988, and the Valuation Act, 1988 , (Global Valuation: Electricity Supply Board)(Apportionment) Order, 1993, are hereby revoked. |
||
3. The Commissioner of Valuation shall apportion the global valuation of the Electricity Supply Board, determined in pursuance of the Valuation Act, 1988 , (Global Valuation: Electricity Supply Board) Order, 1988, between rating authorities as follows: |
||
(a) 75% of the valuation of an electricity generating station, including the items specified in paragraph 7 of the Second Schedule to the Valuation Act, 1988 , situated in a county or county borough shall be apportioned to the council of the county or corporation of the borough; |
||
(b) the balance of the global valuation shall be apportioned to each rating authority in the proportion, expressed as a percentage, which the population in its area, as determined by the census of population taken under the Statistics (Census of Population) Order, 1996 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1996 ), bears to the population of the State, as so determined. |
