CHILD ABDUCTION AND ENFORCEMENT OF CUSTODY ORDERS ACT, 1991 (CONTRACTING STATES)(HAGUE CONVENTION)(AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1998

I, DAVID ANDREWS, T.D., Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 4(3) of the Child Abduction and Enforcement of Custody Orders Act. 1991 (No. 6 of 1991). hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Child Abduction and Enforcement of Custody Orders Act. 1991 (Contracting States) (Hague Convention) (Amendment) Order. 1998.

2. The Child Abduction and Enforcement of Custody Orders Act, 1991 (Contracting States) (Hague Convention) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 123 of 1997 ), is hereby amended by the insertion in paragraph 2 of "Belarus" immediately after "Bahamas", of "Czech Republic" immediately after "Republic of Cyprus", of "Georgia" immediately after "France", of "Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China" immediately after "Honduras", of "South Africa" immediately after "Slovenia" and of "Turkmenistan" immediately after "Switzerland"

3. This Order shall come into operation on the 10th day of December 1998.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to amend, in accordance with Section 4 (3) of the child Abduction and Enforcement of Custody Orders Act, 1991 , the Child Abduction and Enforcement of Custody Orders Act, 1991 (Contracting States) (Hague Convention) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 123 of 1997 ).
