REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 17 AND SECTION 18) (DONEGAL AND CORK) ORDER, 1999.

REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 17 AND SECTION 18) (DONEGAL AND CORK) ORDER, 1999.

An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 17 and Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 (Section 17 and Section 18) (Donegal and Cork) Order, 1999.

2. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Dunfanaghy, Inishowen, Letterkenny, Milford, Ballyshannon, Donegal, Glenties and Stranorlar shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Donegal.

3. The existing Registrars' Districts of Crossroads, Dunfanaghy, Gweedore, Churchill, Kilderry, Killea, Letterkenny, Manorcunningham, Fanad, Kilmacrennan, Milford, Ramelton, Rathmullen and Rosguill shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrars' District to be known as the Registrars' District of Letterkenny.

4. The existing Registrars' Districts of Cloghan, Stranorlar, Killygordon, Raphoe and Castlefinn shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrars' District to be known as the Registrars' District of Stranorlar.

5. The existing Registrars' Districts of Cork No. 5, Clonmoyle, Murragh, Bandon, Inishannon, Kilbrittain, Carrigaline No. 1 and Cobh shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Cork No. 5.

6. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1999.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Superintendent Registrars' Districts and Registrars' Districts in the functional areas of the North Western Health Board and the Southern Health Board so as to reduce the number of such districts in those areas.
