The Minister for the Environment and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33 of the Electoral Act, 1997 ( No. 25 of 1997 ), as amended by section 12 of the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1998 ( No. 4 of 1998 ), hereby makes the following order, a draft of which has been approved by a resolution passed by each House of the Oireachtas: |

1. This order may be cited as the Electoral Act, 1997 (section 33) Order, 1999. |
||||||||
2. The aggregate of election expenses which may be incurred by or on behalf of a candidate in a European Parliament election constituency in connection with his or her candidature at the European election shall not exceed £150,000. |

This order provides for the setting of a limit of £150,000 for the aggregate election expenses for a candidate in any European Parliament constituency. |
