NATIONAL TRAINING FUND ACT, 2000 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 2000.

I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 11(2) of the National Training Fund Act, 2000 (No. 41 of 2000) , hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the National Training Fund Act, 2000 (Commencement) Order, 2000.

2. The 21st day of December, 2000, is hereby appointed as the day on which the National Training Fund Act, 2000 (No. 41 of 2000) , shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order designates a commencement date for the National Training Fund Act, 2000 . The National Training Fund Act, 2000 provides for the imposition of a levy on employers in respect of certain employees, and for the establishment of a National Training Fund to provide training for people in employment or those who wish to take up employment, and for related matters.
