I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 30 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No 6 of 1966) (as adapted by The Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1999 ( S.I. No. 307 of 1999 ) hereby, for the prevention of the spreading of foot and mouth disease, order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Foot and Mouth Disease (Restriction of Import of Vehicles, Machinery and other Equipment) (Amendment) Order, 2001. |

2. In Article 3 of the Foot and Mouth Disease (Restriction of Import of Vehicles, Machinery and other Equipment) Order, 2001 ( S.I. No 51 of 2001 ) the words “United Kingdom” are substituted for “Great Britain”. |

The Order amends the Foot and Mouth Disease (Restriction of Import of Vehicles, Machinery and other Equipment Order, 2001) ( S.I. No 51 of 2001 ) by extending the restriction on the importation of such equipment to the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man to prevent the spreading of foot and mouth disease. |
