ORDER

entitled

Mental Health Act 2001 (Commencement) Order 2006

To be made by the

Minister for Health and Children

I, Mary Harney, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(3) of the Mental Health Act 2001 (No. 25 of 2001), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Mental Health Act 2001 (Commencement) Order 2006.

2. The 1^st day of November 2006 is fixed as the day on which the Mental Health Act 2001 (No. 25 of 2001) shall, insofar as it is not already in operation, come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order brings into operation the remaining provisions (sections 6, 8 to 30 and 56 to 75 inclusive) of the Mental Health Act 2001 with effect from the 1^st November 2006.
