I, DERMOT AHERN, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 of the Transfer of Execution of Sentences Act 2005 (No. 28 of 2005), hereby order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Transfer of Execution of Sentences Act 2005 (Designated Countries) Order 2007. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2. The countries specified in the Schedule to this Order are designated for the purposes of the Transfer of Execution of Sentences Act 2005 (No. 28 of 2005). |

EXPLANATORY NOTE |

The effect of this Order is to designate, for the purposes of the enabling Act, those countries that have ratified, accepted, approved or acceded to the Additional Protocol to the Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons done at Strasbourg on 18 December 1997, or have ratified or acceded to the Schengen Convention, or have given effect under its laws to the provisions of Chapter 5 of Title III of the Schengen Convention or Article 2 of the Additional Protocol to the Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons. |
