EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (CLASSICAL SWINE FEVER) (RESTRICTION ON IMPORTS FROM SLOVAKIA) (NO. 2) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2008

I, BRENDAN SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving full effect to Commission Decision No. 2008/419/EC of 30 May 2008 ¹ , hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Classical Swine Fever) (Restriction on Imports from Slovakia) (No. 2) (Amendment) Regulations 2008.

2. The European Communities (Classical Swine Fever)(Restriction on Imports from Slovakia) (No. 2) Regulations 2008 ( S.I. No. 163 of 2008 ) are amended, in Regulation 2(1) by the substitution for the definition of “Commission Decision”, of-

“ ‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision No. 2008/377/EC of 8 May 2008 and Commission Decision No. 2008/419/EC of 30 May 2008”.

These Regulations give effect to restrictions included in Commission Decision 2008/419/EC of 30 May 2008 on imports from Slovakia due to the classical swine fever situation there.
