EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (CLASSICAL SWINE FEVER) (RESTRICTION ON IMPORTS) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS 2008

I, BRENDAN SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decision No. 2008/631/EC of 29 July 2008 ¹ , hereby make the following regulations-

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Classical Swine Fever) (Restriction on Imports) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2008.

2. The European Communities (Classical Swine Fever) (Restriction on Imports) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 130 of 2007 ) are amended in Regulation 2(1) by the substitution for the definition of “Commission Decision” (inserted by the European Communities (Classical Swine Fever) (Restriction on Imports) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 ( S.I. No. 117 of 2008 )),

“ ‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision No. 2006/805/EC of 24 November 2006; Commission Decision No. 2008/225/EC of 14 March 2008 and Commission Decision No. 2008/631/EC of 29 July 2008”.

3. The European Communities (Classical Swine Fever) (Restriction on Imports) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 ( S.I. No. 117 of 2008 ) are revoked.

These Regulations amend S.I. No. 130 of 2007 and gives effect to Commission Decision No. 2008/631/EC concerning animal health control measures relating to Classical Swine Fever in certain parts of the European Communities.
