EDUCATION AND SCIENCE (DELEGATION OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER 2009

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

"Iris Oifigiúil" of 22nd May, 2009.

The Government, on the request of the Minister for Education and Science and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1977 (No. 28 of 1977), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Education and Science (Delegation ofMinisterial Functions) Order 2009.

2. The powers and duties of the Minister for Education and Science, conferred on him by or under-

(a) section 7(1)(c)(i) of the Education Act 1998 (No. 51 of 1998), in so far as it relates to adult education, including educational disadvantage (within the meaning of that Act) among adults,

(b) section 7(1)(c)(ii) of the Education Act 1998 in so far as it relates to transport services, and

(c) the Education (Welfare) Act 2000 (No. 22 of 2000) (other than section 36 and the Schedule),

are delegated to Seán Haughey, Minister of State at the Department ofEducation and Science.
