I, BRENDAN SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving further effect to Commission Decision 2010/734/EU of 30 November 20101 , hereby make the following regulations: |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Movement of Pet Birds) (Amendment) Regulations 2011. |
||
2. The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Movement of Pet Birds) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 96 of 2007 ) are amended in Regulation 2(1) by substituting for the definition of "Commission Decision" the following- |
||
" 'Commission Decision' means Commission Decision 2007/25/EC of 22 December 2006 and Commission Decision 2010/734/EU of 30 November 2010;". |

This Order gives effect to Commission Decision No. 2010/734/EU of 30 November 2010 concerning certain protective measures with regard to pet birds imported from third countries. |
