I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving further effect to Directive No. 2003/59/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 July 2003¹ , hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as European Communities (Vehicle Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence) (Amendment) Regulations 2012.

2. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the European Communities (Vehicle Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence) (No. 2) Regulations 2008 ( S.I. No. 359 of 2008 ).

3. These Regulations come into operation twenty one days after the date on which they are signed.

4. The Principal Regulations are amended in subparagraphs (a) and (b) of Regulation 7(10), by substituting "€72.00" for "€70".

These Regulations increase the fee required for a Certificate of Professional Competence Theory Test from €70 to €72.
