The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 30 of the Merchant Shipping (Load Lines) Act 1968 (No. 17 of 1968), hereby make the following order: |
||
1.This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (International Convention on Load Lines) (Convention Countries) Order 2012. |
||
2.It is declared-� |
||
(a)that the government of each of the countries specified in Schedule 1 has accepted or acceded to the International Convention on Load Lines 1966, and |
||
(b)that the said Convention extends to each of the territories specified in Schedule 2. |
||
3.The Merchant Shipping (International Convention on Load Lines) (Convention Countries) Order 1986 ( S.I. No. 319 of 1986 ) is revoked. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE |

This Order declares that the Governments of the countries specified in the Order have accepted or acceded to the International Convention on Load Lines 1966 and that the Convention extends to particular territories. The effect of the Order is to bring the list of countries and territories up to date. It also revokes the previous Statutory Instrument, the Merchant Shipping (International Convention on Load Lines) (Convention Countries) Order 1986 ( S.I. No. 319 of 1986 ). |
