I, ALAN SHATTER, Minister for Justice and Equality, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Private Security Services Act 2004 (No. 12 of 2004), order as follows: |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Private Security Services Act 2004 (Commencement) Order 2014. |
||
2. In this Order- |
||
"security guard (alarm monitoring)" means a person who as a security guard monitors security equipment which consists of a continuously manned remote centre to which information concerning the status of one or more alarm systems is reported; |
||
"security guard (cctv monitoring)" means a person who as a security guard monitors security equipment which consists of a continuously manned remote centre to which information concerning the status of one or more cctv systems is reported; |
||
3. The 1st day of November 2014 is fixed as the day on which section 37 (as amended by section 13 of the Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2011 (No. 23 of 2011)) of the Private Security Services Act 2004 (No. 12 of 2004) comes into operation as respects a private security employer or an independent contractor who provides a security service as a- |

(a) security guard (alarm monitoring), |

(b) security guard (cctv monitoring). |
||
