I, PASCHAL DONOHOE, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purposes of renewing an exemption under Article 2(4) of Regulation (EC) No. 1371/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 20071 , hereby make the following regulations: |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Rail Passengers’ Rights and Obligations) (Domestic Passenger Rail Services) (Renewal of Exemption) Regulations 2014. |
||
2. Domestic rail passenger services in the State which do not cross the borders of the State are exempt, until 4 December 2019, from the application of Articles 13, 15, 21 and 23 of Regulation (EC) No. 1371/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 20071. |

The purpose of these Regulations is to renew the existing exemption insofar as to exempt Articles 13, 15, 21 and 23 until 4 December 2019 from the application of Regulation (EC) No. 1371/2007 of the European Parliament and Council on rail passengers’ rights and obligations. |
