I, PASCHAL DONOHOE, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 13 of Roads Act 2015 (No. 14 of 2015), having consulted with the National Roads Authority, hereby order as follows: |
||
1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Roads Act 2015 (Operational Name of National Roads Authority) Order 2015. |
||
(2) This Order comes into operation on 1 August 2015. |
||
2. “TransportInfrastructure Ireland” is specified as a name by which the National Roads Authority may describe itself for operational purposes. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE |

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) |

The purpose of this Order is to allow the National Roads Authority to describe itself, for operational purposes, as “Transport Infrastructure Ireland”, to better reflect its expanded remit following the transfer of functions of the Railway Procurement Agency to the National Roads Authority, with effect from 1st August, 2015. |
