I, MICHAEL CREED, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 36 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 (No. 15 of 2013), hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Prohibition On Tail Docking and Dew Claw Removal (Dogs) Regulations 2014 (Amendment) Regulations 2017. | ||
2. The Prohibition On Tail Docking and Dew Claw Removal (Dogs) Regulations 2014 are amended— | ||
(a) in Regulation 4 (1) by the deletion of “or a veterinary nurse (within the meaning of the Veterinary Practice Act 2005 )”, and | ||
(b) by the deletion, in each place where it occurs, of “or veterinary nurse”. | ||
3. The Prohibition on Tail Docking (Dogs) Regulations 2014 (Amendment) Regulations 2016 are hereby revoked. | ||

These Regulations amend the Prohibition On Tail Docking and Dew Claw Removal (Dogs) Regulations 2014. The effect of these regulations is to require that tail docking of dogs be carried out by a veterinary practitioner. |
