S.I. No. 353/2018 - Insurance (Amendment) Act 2018 (Commencement) (Part 4) Order 2018


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 18th September, 2018.

I, PASCHAL DONOHOE, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Insurance (Amendment) Act 2018 (No. 21 of 2018), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Insurance (Amendment) Act 2018 (Commencement) (Part 4) Order 2018.

2. The 1st day of December 2018 is appointed as the day on which Part 4 of the Insurance (Amendment) Act 2018 (No. 21 of 2018) comes into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order appoints 1 December 2018 as the date on which Part 4 of the Insurance (Amendment) Act 2018 comes into operation.

Part 4 of the Insurance (Amendment) Act 2018 provides for the establishment and operation of the Motor Insurers Insolvency Compensation Fund (MIIC Fund).
