S.I. No. 448/2018 - Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018 (Commencement) Order 2018


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 6th November, 2018.

I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsections (2), (3) and (4) of section 1 of the Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018 (No. 24 of 2018) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018 (Commencement) Order 2018.

2. In this Order, “Act” means the Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018 (No. 24 of 2018).

3. The 12th day of November 2018 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act come into operation:

(a) Part 1, other than sections 4 and 10;

(b) sections 17, 22 and 23;

(b) Part 3.

4. The 12th day of November 2019 is appointed as the day on which sections 14 and 20 of the Act come into operation.

5. The 12th day of November 2021 is appointed as the day on which sections 15 and 16 of the Act come into operation.

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

The purpose of this Order is to commence Part 1 (other than sections 4 and 10), section 14 , 15 , 16 , 17 , 20 , 22 and 23 and Part 3 of the Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018 .
