Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 26th March, 2019.

I, REGINA DOHERTY, Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (5) of the Social Welfare, Pensions and Civil Registration Act 2018 (No. 37 of 2018), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare, Pensions and Civil Registration Act 2018 (Commencement) Order 2019.

2. In this Order, “Act of 2018” means the Social Welfare, Pensions and Civil Registration Act 2018 (No. 37 of 2018).

3. The 20th day of March 2019 is appointed as the day on which section 17 and Schedule 1 (in so far as they relate to item numbers 14 and 22 of that Schedule) of the Act of 2018 shall come into operation.

4. The 21st day of March 2019 is appointed as the day on which section 17 and Schedule 1 (in so far as they relate to item number 3 of that Schedule) of the Act of 2018 shall come into operation.

5. The 25th day of March 2019 is appointed as the day on which section 17 and Schedule 1 (in so far as they relate to item numbers 1, 2, 4, 20, 23 and 24 of that Schedule) of the Act of 2018 shall come into operation.

6. The 27th day of March 2019 is appointed as the day on which section 17 and Schedule 1 (in so far as they relate to item number 21 of that Schedule) of the Act of 2018 shall come into operation.

7. The 28th day of March 2019 is appointed as the day on which section 17 and Schedule 1 (in so far as they relate to item numbers 7, 12, 17, 18, 19, 25 and 26 of that Schedule) of the Act of 2018 shall come into operation.

8. The 29th day of March 2019 is appointed as the day on which section 17 and Schedule 1 (in so far as they relate to item numbers 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15 and 16 of that Schedule) of the Act of 2018 shall come into operation.

This Order provides for the commencement of Section 17 and Schedule 1 of the Social Welfare, Pensions and Civil Registration Act 2018 , relating to increases for qualified children, with effect from 20 to 29 March 2019.
