S.I. No. 564/2019 - Valuation Act 2001 (Wexford County Council) (Rate Limitation) Order 2019


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 15th November, 2019.

I, EOGHAN MURPHY, Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 56 of the Valuation Act 2001 (No. 13 of 2001) and, having obtained the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Valuation Act 2001 (Wexford County Council) (Rate Limitation) Order 2019.

2. Wexford County Council shall exercise its powers to make such rates in such a manner as to secure that the total amount liable to be paid to it in respect of rates made by it for the local financial year 2020 does not exceed an amount determined in accordance with the formula set out in section 56(2) of the Valuation Act 2001 , where “A” is the figure 1.009 and where “G” is €3,126,000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

This Order requires that Wexford County Council, in exercising its powers to make rates for the financial year 2020, does so in such a way to ensure that the total amount of rates liable to be paid to it does not exceed an amount determined in accordance with the formula as set out in section 56(2) of the Valuation Act 2001 .
