I, RODERIC O’GORMAN, Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 (No. 64 of 2015) and the Disability, Equality, Human Rights, Integration and Reception (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 436 of 2020 ) (as adapted by the Children and Youth Affairs (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 437 of 2020 )), and after consulting with the Minister for Health, hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 (Section 7(1)) (Commencement) Order 2021. | ||
2. The 1st day of February 2021 is appointed as the day on which section 7(1) of the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 (No. 64 of 2015) shall come into operation. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||
(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) | ||
This Order appoints 1st February 2021 as the date on which Section 7(1) of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015 comes into operation. | ||
Section 7(1) repeals the Marriage of Lunatics Act 1811 . |
