I, HEATHER HUMPHREYS, Minister for Social Protection, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Social Welfare Act 2021 (No. 44 of 2021), hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act 2021 (Section 14) (Commencement) Order 2022. | ||
2. The 7th day of April 2022 is appointed as the day on which section 14 of the Social Welfare Act 2021 (No. 44 of 2021) shall come into operation. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||
(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) | ||
This Order provides for the commencement of Section 14 of the Social Welfare Act 2021 from 7 April 2022. | ||
Section 14 provides for a €10 increase in the weekly income thresholds of working family payment for all qualifying families. |
