Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in | ||

I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 5 (3) of the Redundancy Payments (Amendment) Act 2022 (No. 3 of 2022), hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Redundancy Payments (Amendment) Act 2022 (Commencement) Order 2022. | ||
2. The 19th day of April 2022 is appointed as the day on which the Redundancy Payments (Amendment) Act 2022 (No. 3 of 2022), other than section 4, shall come into operation. | ||

EXPLANTORY NOTE | ||
(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal Interpretation) | ||
This order provides for the commencement, from 19 April 2022, of the Redundancy Payments (Amendment) Act 2022 , other than Section 4. This Act amends the Redundancy Payments Act 1967 in order to provide a legislative basis for a “Covid-19 related lay-off payment”, to be paid from the Social Insurance Fund. |
